Who was Paul (Pavo) Tvrtkovic?

Paul was born in Sarajevo on 26th May 1927 to a Croatian father and Czech mother. He studied Architecture in Zagreb University then moved to London in 1954. He designed and supervised the construction of the New London Theatre (renamed the Gillian Lynne Theatre) in Drury Lane, London, which opened in January 1973. He was a Design Tutor at the Kingston Polytechnic School of Architecture from 1974 until 1984. He founded the Croatian Mission in London in 1968 and dedicated his life fighting for the independence of his beloved Croatia. He represented the Government of the Republic of Bosnia and Hercegovina from 1989 until 1991 in the war in Bosnia-Hercegovina, and then became Spokesman in London for the Independent State of Croatian during the following three years until the end of that war. He died on 1st May 2010.
