Who is Radu Țuculescu?

Radu Țuculescu is a Romanian novelist, playwright, translator, journalist and a theatre director from Cluj-Napoca.

He was born in Târgu Mureș and he is the nephew of the well-known painter Ion Țuculescu and the father of writer Răzvan Țuculescu. He is working as a compere for the Romanian National Television. Radu Țuculescu is one of the most prestigious novelist from the so-called 1980s writers generation from Romania. He was honored throughout his career with numerous national awards and since 2007 he gain international success. Novels like Cuptorul cu microunde and Povestirile mameibătrâne were published in Austria, France and The Czech Republic. The “Grădina de vară sau Hai să-i batem” theatrical play was played for the first time in Prague, on January 29, 2008, enjoying significant success.
