Who was Sarah Feig?
Sarah (Feig) Wiesel was the mother of Elie Wiesel. She and her husband Shlomo owned a grocery store in the village of Sighet in Romania.
Sarah died in the Birkenau concentration camp together with her youngest daughter Tziporah in June 1944, shortly after the family was rounded up and taken prisoner by the Nazis.
