Who is Shmuel Auerbach?
Shmuel Auerbach is a prominent Haredi rabbi in Jerusalem, Israel. He is regarded as one of the leading non-Hasidic Lithuanian poskim for Haredi Ashkenazi Jews living in Israel, whose views and declarations are regarded as authoritative. He is the rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Maalot HaTorah and the nasi of Yeshivas Midrash Shmuel and Yeshivas Toras Simcha, both in Jerusalem. For a short time, he also served as one of the roshei yeshiva of Yeshivas Itri in Jerusalem. He is a member of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah which guides the Degel HaTorah Israeli political party. He resides in the Sha'arei Hesed neighborhood of Jerusalem.
