Who was Stafford King?
Stafford King was a Minnesota Republican politician, who served as Minnesota State Auditor nearly four decades.
Born in Minnesota, King served in the U.S. Army during World War I. He was first elected as state auditor in 1930, and was reelected nine more times. He would win every election through 1966.
King retired from office in 1969, and died just over a year later in August 1970.
