Who is Tahpenes?
Tahpenes is an Egyptian queen mentioned in the Book of Kings in the Bible. She appears in 1 Kings 11:19, where Hadad the Edomite is awarded by the Egyptian Pharaoh with Tahpenes' sister in marriage. Tahpenes weaned Hadad and her sister's son Genubath and was raised in the Pharaoh's household. Tahpenes is also an Israeli female given name. She was considered a goddess of fertility to some.
