Who is Takashi Ono?

Takashi Ono is a Japanese judoka. He won a gold medal at the −81 kg category of the 2005 Asian Judo Championships.

He is from Ishige, Ibaraki and practiced the judo with Keiji Suzuki since a primary schoolchild. After graduation from Tsukuba University, He belongs to Ryotokuji Gakuen whichi Yusuke Kanamaru, Tomoo Torii, Masatoshi Tobitsuka and former Asian champion Yuta Yazaki are also belong to. He won the all Japan championships from 2008–2010 and being the overall favorite at the 2010 World Championships in Tokyo he was eliminated in the 3rd round by former olympic champion Ilias Iliadis. Ono's tokui waza is uchi mata he is also well versed in morote seoinage and o uchi gari. In 2009-2010 Ono was regarded as being one of the most excititing judoka in world judo. He lost out on a place at the 2012 olympics with Japan choosing masashi nishiyama at 90 kg.
