Who is Tangeni Amupadhi?
Tangeni Amupadhi is the Editor-in-chief of The Namibian. Amupadhi took over from founding and long-serving editor Gwen Lister, who has been in the position for just over 25 years.
Tangeni's career in journalism spans 20 years. He worked, among others, at Namibia Press Agency, South Africa's Mail & Guardian newspaper and The Namibian. He has several tertiary qualifications and two prestigious scholarships, namely a Fulbright at the University of Maryland, College Park, in the United States, as well as a Nieman Fellowship at Harvard University, also in the U.S. In 2004, together with several people, he set up Insight Namibia as a private media company bringing out a monthly business and current affairs magazine.
He has served as an editor of Insight Namibia, a newspaper magazine he founded with others.
