Who is Thomas E. Newsom-Davis?

Thomas E. Newsom-Davis is an Honorary Senior lecturer in the Department of Immunology, Imperial College London.

Dr Tom Newsom-Davis trained at University College and Middlesex School of Medicine, and graduated in anatomy and medicine in 1998. He subsequently specialised in medical oncology at Charing Cross and Hammersmith Hospitals. During this time he completed a PhD in tumour immunology, funded by Cancer Research UK, and went on to become a Clinical Lecturer in medical oncology at Imperial College London, supported by the Wellcome Trust and Academy of Medical Sciences. He has published several peer-reviewed papers and presented at many conferences.

Dr Newsom-Davis is a consultant in medical oncology at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital where he specialises in the treatment of lung cancer, mesothelioma and acute oncology. He also has an interest in HIV-related malignancies. He is Trust clinical lead for National Cancer Research Network clinical trials and for Acute Oncology, lead for the London Cancer Alliance Acute Oncology group, and vice chair of the West London Cancer Network Acute Oncology Group. His work at Chelsea and Westminster was recognised in the 2011 Health Services Journal Awards.

Dr Newsom-Davis is interested in medical education and has taught widely at both under-gradate and post-graduate levels, as well as being an invited lecturer for various organisations including the Royal College of Physicians.
