Who is Tyler Gilbert?

Tyler Gilbert is a Regina, Saskatchewan based folk guitarist, born in Calgary, Alberta.

His latest album "OK Murphy" due out in 2013 was funded by Rawlco Radio. "As a songwriter he always tries to tell stories about life as he experiences it. He has been known to put a fictitious spin on things, but that's part of telling stories.”

In 2010 he released “The Re-Session, and stays busy with appearances in the folk circuit, with constant touring he has "racked up untold thousands of road miles.” In 2011 Gilbert released “Tyler’s World” Gilbert has appeared live on many radio stations as well as on television.

Gilbert’s influences include that of Bob Dylan and Neil Young . "Tyler's World" Has recently been released at HMV locations in Canada "Windsor's campus radio station, CJAM, named him artist of the week and Lethbridge's campus radio station, CJSR, put him into weekly rotation. Prison Wall Blues, one of his songs from a previous album, peaked on Saskatchewan's Top 30 countdown and lasted 16 months on the charts."

"Over the years, he’s discovered that themes surrounding a single man pop up most frequently in his music. He credits his natural affinity to people-watching for his attempts at guessing what someone is thinking about." Gilbert was a recent winning recipient of Rawlco Radio's 10k20 grant.
