Vishalakshi Dakshinamurthy is a notable Kannada Writer/novelist.
She is also a recipient of Aryabhata Award for her literary contribution to Kannada novel and cinema. She has a 64 novels to her credit. Most of her novels were ran as soaps for poupular magazines like Sudha, Taranga. Her novels are based on family values and traditions of Karnataka. Her notable contributions to literature were through mangificient novels like Vyapthi-Prapthi. This novel, due to the popularity was made into a movie Jeevana Chaitra. The movie became a blockbuster acted by veteran actor Dr.Rajkumar. This movie was significant in Dr. Raj's career as it marked the re-entry of him after a gap of 3 years.
