Who is W. Stanley Proctor?

W. Stanley "Sandy" Proctor is a sculptor in Florida known for his bronze figures. He was born in Tallahassee, Florida and is self-taught. He was inducted into the Florida Artist Hall of Fame in 2006.

He began his career as a painter, before witching to sculpture in clay, alabaster and marble. He is best known for his bronze figures and wildlife.

He attended Washington and Lee University in Virginia.

His work is in collection at the Boyds Collection in Pennsylvania, the National Jewish Center Hospital in Colorado; the Living Desert Museum in California; the Florida Governor's Mansion and the Leon County Courthouse. He has done sports figures, including a 9-foot-tall sculpture of Florida State University's legendary head football coach Bobby Bowden and a life-size statue of Eddie Stanky. He has also done sculptures of Danny Wuerffel, Tim Tebow and Steve Spurrier.
