Who was Waguih Ghali?
Waguih Ghali وجيه غالي was a Coptic, Anglophone Egyptian writer, best known for his novel Beer in the Snooker Club. Fearing political persecution, Ghali spent his adult years impoverished, living in exile in Europe. He died by his own hand on January 5, 1969.
