Who is Xavier Cedeño?

Xavier Cedeño is a Puerto Rican professional baseball pitcher for the Washington Nationals of Major League Baseball.

Cedeno was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 31st round of the 2004 Major League Baseball Draft,and played in the Rockies minor league system from 2005 to 2009. After not playing in 2010, Cedeno signed with the Houston Astros.

He was called up to the major leagues on September 11, 2011. He signed a minor league contract with the Astros on October 24.

Cedeño began the 2012 season with Triple-A Oklahoma City, where he went 2–0 with a 0.42 ERA in 17 games before being promoted to Houston when Fernando Abad was placed on the 15-day DL.

Cedeño was claimed on waivers by the Washington Nationals on April 23, 2013, and assigned to their Triple-A affiliate Syracuse Chiefs.
