Who is Xept?

Ibetei Charles Toby, Professionally known as Xept is a fast rising Trapstar from the southern part of Nigeria. This young gifted trapper was born 26th September 1996, and he hails from Bayelsa state and the first born in a polygamous family of seven, both parents from Bayelsa state. He spent his childhood with his grandma in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. As a toddler growing up in the streets of Port Harcourt, Xept was almost the perfect kid for the future to come. But, things changed when he moved to Bayelsa state. Growing up in a messed up environment was really tough and challenging. But, still, his passion for music grew as he advances his sound abilities by learning how to play the keyboard in a church (2010). Xept started his career late 2011, when he met Topnotch. They started working together using Fruity Loops on a PC. Xept did his first track with Topnotch titled NO NEW FRIENDS (2012). This young trapstar never gave up his dream & passion for trap music despite so many discouragements & environmental condition. Xept turned rogue and cold when he lost his grandma; Nov, 2012. He became obsessed with life and decided to live a trap life. But this time, he decided to advance his production skills when he Mainzey Switch (2015) and was signed to Thriller100 Gang. Xept is quick to learn as he started recording professionally (2016). Unlike any other artiste, Xept is absolutely a pure trap artiste with a flaw.

That’s to say that Xept is only based on pure trap; keeping the trap culture booming in Africa. His massive hit track; BACKFLIP (Produced by Young Chop & Xept) was released on the 23rd Jan, 2018. Backflip was the perfect song to start with. The young trapper has been dropping hits ever since, he seems to have pave his way into the industry. Xept’s unique trap style sounds like that of Atlanta trappers; Gucci Mane, 21 Savage, Lil Pump, Young Thug, Lil Yachty, Ski Mask, etc. This talented trapstar dropped another hit track titled REAL ONES featuring Shadokizee (Produced by Young Chop & Xept) which was released on the 14th March, 2018. After that, he has been dropping hits & more trap vibes back to back – LAMBO, HERE HE GOES, PAIN (Feauturing Scarface Willy), RACKS IN MY SAFE (Featuring Rex ill), TWIN SISTERS, MOONWALK. Xept’s first dubbed track with an international female trap artiste; Molly Brazy titled DRACO was released in April and later turn out to be the hit in the streets. He seems to have fit in with this collaboration. This trapstar tags himself- Xept On The Shit. When he was asked why the shit? He said ”Yeah, cos everything is a shit to me and am always on the shit”

Xept is very hardworking, from a producer to an artiste. Xept’s first mixtape album (1718 THE LIFESTYLE) was recorded under Thriller100 Gang. Every song was voiced, recorded, mixed & mastered by Xept. To say, Xept is the co-producer of his mixtape album- 1718 THE LIFESTYLE (17 Tracks)
