Who was A. Senapathi Gounder?
A. Senapathi Gounder was an Indian politician, former Member of Parliament India and Member of the Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu.
He was elected to the Palani Parliament constituency as a member of the Indian National Congress party in four consecutive times, his last term ending with his death.
He was the candidate from Dharapuram constituency in 1952 and 1957 elections; candidate from Oddanchatram constituency in 1962 election; candidate from Kangayam constituency in 1967 election.
He came from a village called Kuttappalayam in Kangayam taluka in the Tiruppur district.
He was a founder of TRN Polytechnic college in Dharapuram and TRN ITI in Vellakovil
His younger son K.S.Venugopal is M.L.A from Palani constituency in 2011 election
