Who is Aggrammes?
Aggrammes, or Xandrames according to Diodorus Siculus, was the ruler of the Gangaridai and Prasii in what is now the Bengal region of the Indian subcontinent. He was said to be the son of a barber, whom the queen had married. Alexander the Great was preparing to march against him when he was compelled by his soldiers, who had become tired of the war, to give up further conquests in India.
