Who is Agnivesa?
Agnivesha is a legendary rishi, reputedly one of the earliest authors on ayurveda He was a pupil of Punarvasu Atreya. The Mahabharata rivals Drona and Drupada were under his tutelage. The so-called Agnivesh tantra is a lost text on Ayurveda, according to legend recording the teachings of Bharadwaja to Agnivesa. The text is mentioned in the Charaka Samhita: "the tantra as written by Agnivesha is compiled, edited and modified by Charaka"
