Who is Alastair Richardson?

Alastair William Richardson is an English former cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler who played for Derbyshire between 1992 and 1993.

Richardson had a modest first-class career, despite taking an impressive two wickets on his debut against Glamorgan in the final match of the 1992 season, including that of Matthew Maynard. He played only once more for the 1st Xl, against Somerset the following summer. He played for the second team until 1995, after which he left the county.

Richardson's father, William and grandfather Arthur both played first-class cricket. Arthur was captain of Derbyshire between 1931 and 1936 and was the only cricketer to captain Derbyshire to the County Championship title.
