Who is Albrecht von Müller?

Albrecht von Müller is a German philosopher and former entrepreneur. Since 2000, Von Müller is the director of the Parmenides Center for the Study of Thinking which is run by the non-profit organization Parmenides Foundation and is associated with the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. He is a teacher for philosophy at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich as well as for the theory of thinking at the MCA program of the international school for advanced studies in Trieste, SISSA http://www.sissa.it/main. His main fields of interest are the concept of time and the theory of thinking. In those fields he has various publications. Von Müller is an external member of the Human Science Center and of the Munich Center of Neuroscience of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. Furthermore, he serves on the board of trustees of the Max Planck Institute for Neurobiology as well as the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry.

Von Müller obtained a PhD in philosophy at the University of Munich in 1982, worked as a researcher and subsequently as a program director at the Max Planck Society from 1982 until 1989, and was the director of the European Center for International Security EUCIS from 1989 until 1995, according to some sources.
