Who is Alec Yasinsac?
Alec Yasinsac is the Dean of the School of Computing, University of South Alabama, USA.
A former U.S. Marine, Yasinsac was awarded his doctoral degree in 1996 from the University of Virginia, where his doctoral advisor was William Wulf. He received the Master of Science in Computer Science from the Naval Postgraduate School and Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Appalachian State University.
Yasinsac is the co-founder and co-director of the Security and Assurance in Information Security Laboratory. He was a visiting scholar at the National Academy of Engineering in 2006, served on the advisory board for the NAE 2007 National Meeting Symposium on Electronic Voting, and led the team that conducted the source code review in support of the Florida Department of State audit of Florida's 13th congressional district 2006 election.
