Who is Aleksandr Viktorovich Fyodorov?

Alexander Victorovich Fedorov was born November 4, 1954. He completed his Ph.D. dissertation about media education at the Russian Academy of Education.

He is the president of the Russian Association for Film and Media Education and pro-rector of the Taganrog State Pedagogical Institute and main editor of Russian pedagogical journal "Media Education". He is also a member of the Russian Academy of Film Arts & Science, Russian Union of Filmmakers, CIFEJ and FIPRECI. Alexander Fedorov is the author of 20 books on media education and media literacy and more than 400 articles.

Since 1997 he has received scientific research grants on media culture and media education from the President of the Russian Federation, Russian Foundation for Humanities, Russian Ministry of Education, Kennan Institute, IREX, MacArthure Foundation, Open Society Institute, DAAD, and others. He was a guest professor and research fellow in Norway Association for Media Education, Oslo, Central European University, Kassel University, Maison des sciences de l'homme, Paris, Kennan Institute, Washington D.C., Humboldt University, Berlin, University of Mainz.
