Who is Alexandra Colen?

Alexandra Maria Catherine Colen is a Belgian politician. She is member of the Belgian Federal Parliament for the Vlaams Belang party since 21 May 1995. She holds a PhD in linguistics, and is known for her advocacy of strict Catholic ethics.

She is married to Paul Beliën, the editor of the conservative-libertarian blog The Brussels Journal.

Within the Vlaams Blok and its successor party Vlaams Belang, Colen is seen as leading the religious conservative wing of the party—although some critics and observers believe she is comparatively more libertarian than other figures within the party.
