Who was Alphonse Mucha?
Known for launching a movement dubbed Style Mucha, his work was a forerunner of the French Art Nouveau movement. Born in 1860, Czechoslovakian artist Alphonse Mucha began painting and drawing as a child, but he toured the world as a singer. He later attended the Munich Academy of Fine Arts and Academie Julian.
