Who is Alma Adams?

Alma Shealey Adams is a Democratic member of the North Carolina General Assembly representing the state's 58th House district since her appointment in April 1994. Her district is located in Guilford County and includes most of southeastern Greensboro. A college administrator and art professor from Greensboro, Adams is known for the many distinctive hats that she wears. Adams won the 2014 Democratic Primary for the open seat in North Carolina's 12th congressional district.
