Who is Amiya Powell?
After college, Amiya began a successful career in Fashion Public Relations, working with notables such as Calvin Klein and Nanette Lepore. In addition to writing copy for clients, she wrote articles, blogs, and short stories under various pseudonyms.
In 2013, Amiya wrote her first full length novel, a bizarre and prurient tale about a group of scientists who discover a way to clone Jesus Christ. The book, which portrays Christ as a hard-partying bad ass, culminates with him being crucified in Times Square on live television. A popular publisher immediately showed interest, but ultimately abandoned the project when Amiya refused to edit some of the more controversial scenes.
In 2016, Amiya released her second book The Rabbit Hole: An Erotic Tale (amzn.to/1YzxSkn), which blends elements of mystery, science fiction, and erotica into a modern reimagining of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. The book explores themes of identity, existentialism, and personal duality, through the lens of sexuality and relationships.
