Who is Amy Walter?

Amy Walter is a leading American political analyst, currently serving as national editor of The Cook Political Report. Before this, Walter served as the political director of ABC News, based in Washington, DC.

Walter previously worked at The Cook Political Report from 1997-2007. During this time she served as a senior editor covering the United States House of Representatives.

Walter has also served as the Editor in Chief at the National Journal's The Hotline.

Walter's voice has been featured in the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, and the New York Times. She has also been featured on numerous broadcasts, most recently Gwen Ifil's Washington Week, Face the Nation, Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace, Andrea Mitchell Reports, the Daily Rundown, the Chris Matthews Show, and Meet the Press.

Walter was also part of the Emmy-awarding CNN Election Coverage team in 2006. Walter was the recipient of the Washington Post's Crystal Ball Award, as well as deemed by Washingtonian Magazine as one of the top-50 journalists.

Walter graduated summa cum laude from Colby College and currently sits on the Board of Trustees.
