Who is Andrew Schmidt?
Andrew Schmidt', former University of Oregon baseball player, is a current Free Agent professional baseball player. Previously played for the Canberra Cavalry of the ABL. After returning to the United States after the 2010-2011 ABL Season, Schmidt began training with Competitive Edge Sports in Duluth, Georgia with several MLB players. Afterward, Schmidt garnered invited workouts with the Boston Red Sox, Kansas City Royals, and Colorado Rockies.
After not signing a contract for the 2012 MLB Season, Schmidt has since been working in the marketing and advertising industry in Atlanta, Georgia.
While playing at Oregon, he is most well known for winning Oregon's first home game at PK Park on February 27, 2009, as the Ducks beat Fresno State, the defending national champions, 1-0 on a walk-off single by Schmidt, in front of a sellout crowd of 2,777 for the first home game at Oregon in 27 years.
Schmidt originally from Atlanta, Georgia holds a degree with honors in Political Science and History from The University Oregon.
