Who is Andy Valmorbida?

Andy Valmorbida was born in Melbourne, Australia and is the son of Italian immigrants and heir to one of Australia's largest private conglomerates.

Valmorbida completed a Business degree before working at his family’s investment bank Morgan Schiff & Co. in New York for stepfather Phillip Cohen. He then continued on Wall Street before moving into the art world at the age of 25.

Andy Valmorbida is an art entrepreneur and collector and in 2006, he created Valmorbida & Co. a private art dealership headquartered in New York. Valmorbida & Co, is the pioneer of the new era of art event marketing, bringing new methods to the business of selling art. Andy Valmorbida is also a member of the Serpentine Gallery's council in London.

In 2010 Andy curated and donated two rare Richard Hambleton pieces to the amfAR 17th Annual Cinema Against AIDS Gala During the Cannes Film Festival event. The pieces sold for $960,000.

Valmorbida’s younger brother PC recently opened Prism gallery in Los Angeles.
