Who is Anitta?

Larissa de Macedo Machado, better known by her stage name Anitta, is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, actress, dancer, businesswoman and presenter.

She started singing when she was 7 years old in a church choir, at the same time she took ballroom dance classes and even taught as a dance teacher and still uses her skill as a dancer in her shows and video clips, although I switched from ballroom dancing to stiletto.

She studied business at a technical school and was asked to do an internship at mining company Vale. According to the singer, the marketing classes she took during the administration course are useful to her today, and she is praised when they call her a "marketing case", because she is the one who plans and executes her own marketing.

In 2010, after posting a video on YouTube, Renato Azevedo, the then producer of the independent label Furacão 2000, asked her to sign a contract with the label. Due to the success of the song "Meiga e Abusada" in 2012, she signed a contract with the label Warner Music Brasil the following year. With the song "Show das Poderosas", she got the second place in the Brazilian singles chart Hot 100 Airplay, of Billboard Brasil. His first studio album, Anitta, was released in July of the same year.

Ritmo Perfeito, his second studio album, was released on June 4, 2014. The same live album, Meu Lugar, was released on the same day, which debuted in the first place on iTunes Brazil, remaining on top for a week. In 2015, she released her third album, titled Bang !, which was certified platinum and spawned four singles.

In 2013, Anitta was the singer who remained on top of iTunes Brazil for the longest time, being elected "Artist of the Year" by the company. The artist was also elected by the São Paulo Association of Art Critics (APCA) as the "Revelation of the Year" in music. In 2015, she won the MTV EMA Worldwide Act Latin America award, being the first Brazilian artist to win the award. In 2020, she released the single Me Gusta with American singer Cardi B and Mike Towers.
