Who is Arthur Williams?

Arthur "King" James Williams is a professional boxer.

Williams became professional in 1989 and fell short in his first shot at a major championship title, a 1994 split-decision loss to Orlin Norris for the World Boxing Association Cruiserweight Title. Williams was knocked out in the third round in a rematch with Norris later that year. It was not until 1998 that Williams got another shot at a title belt, a 1998 bout with Imamu Mayfield for the International Boxing Federation Cruiserweight Title. Williams lost the belt in his first defense to cruiserweight phenom Vassiliy Jirov in a seventh-round knockout. Williams has since become more of a journeyman than a contender, and has lost in bouts against O'Neil Bell and Kelvin Davis. His current record is 47-17-1 with 30 KO's. In 2010, Williams defeated unbeaten Valente Tinajero, beating him clearly on points, on the Holyfield-Botha Undercard. In December 2010, Williams, 46, lost a ten round decision to Carl Davis for the vacant USBO Cruiserweight title in Chicago, Illinois, in perhaps his last major bout.
