Who is Belinda?

Belinda Peregrín Schüll, better known as Belinda Peregrín or simply Belinda, is a Spanish-born Mexican singer-songwriter and actress. She started her career in 2000 at the age of 10 when she was cast in the lead role in the children's telenovela ¡Amigos X Siempre!. She later appeared in other children's programs Aventuras en el Tiempo and Cómplices Al Rescate and participated in their subsequent soundtrack releases and international tours.

In 2003, her debut self-titled album Belinda was a commercial success throughout Latin America, and sold over 2.5 million records worldwide. The album spawned the number one singles "Ángel" and "Vivir". In 2006, her second album Utopía earned her two Latin Grammy Awards nominations and was certified platinum in Mexico. It contained the top ten singles "Ni Freud Ni Tu Mamá", "Bella Traición" and "Luz Sin Gravedad".

Collectively, her four studio albums have sold more than 12 million copies worldwide. With more than 2 million albums sold in the United States, Belinda is the third best selling female Mexican artist in the United States, behind Thalía and Paulina Rubio.
