Who is Bill Michael?

Bill Michael was the head football coach at UTEP from 1977 to 1981, serving as the school's seventeenth head coach. He compiled a 5-43 record, which eventually led to his firing in 1981. He lost 10 consecutive games twice, in periods from 1977 to 1978 and 1979 to 1980.

He has also coached at his alma mater University of Arkansas. He coached at Oklahoma. During his three seasons there, the team compiled a 43-6-1 record, including two Sugar Bowl championships. He served as a defensive coach at the University of South Carolina starting in 1982.
