Who is Bill Portelli?
Since joining CollabNet in 1999, Bill has piloted CollabNet to the
industry leadership position in providing enterprise solutions for
Web-based decentralized collaboration in the area of software and
systems development.
With 27 years of experience in
engineering, product management, services, sales management, and
overall executive management, Bill's cross-functional business approach
has been instrumental to building a market-driven company.
Prior to joining CollabNet, Bill was with Cadence Design Systems (NYSE:CDN),
the largest supplier of electronic design automation software and
services. At Cadence, Bill held the position of Corporate Vice
President and General Manager of Cadence's Worldwide Consulting
Services. Just prior to that role, Portelli was Vice President and GM
of Cadence's Custom IC Business Unit, where he drove this industry
leading multi-hundred million dollar business unit to multiple years of
high double digit annual growth. Other positions Bill has held include
Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Cooper and Chyan
Technology, the then leader in PCB and IC routing software; Executive
Vice President at Zycad Corporation, a maker of special purpose
supercomputers and software solutions; and as Engineering Manager at
General Instrument where he lead the development of several leading
edge full custom flash memories and networking ICs.
