Who was Bill Stearns?
William E. Stearns, was a professional baseball player who played pitcher in the Major Leagues from 1871-1875. He played for the Washington Olympics, Washington Nationals, Washington Blue Legs, and Hartford Dark Blues. Stearns died in his hometown of Washington, D.C. at the age of 45, and is interred at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.
