Who is Bob Abernethy?

Bob Abernethy is a former NBC News correspondent. Since 1997, Abernethy has served as the executive editor and host of Religion & Ethics Newsweekly, which airs on PBS.

Abernethy received his bachelor's and master's degrees from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University. For more than 40 years, he worked as a correspondent for NBC News. Abernethy provided memorable coverage of the arrival at Andrews AFB of the body of President John F. Kennedy upon its arrival from Dallas in 1963. He also anchored the network's coverage of the Northeast blackout of 1965 from its Washington News Bureau.
