Who is Britta Merwin?

KCRA 3 Meteorologist ' ' ' Britta Merwin' ' ' joined the KCRA Weather Team in June 2010, She arrived in Sacramento, CA, Britta was born in San Antonio, TX. Into an Air Force Family, Britta lived in England before ending up in the Colorado Rockies where she grew up in the town of littleton located just the Southwest of Denver.

After her local meteorologist visited her elementary school, She decided to be a meteorologist at the age of eight. Attending Stony Brook University, Britta graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor Of Science in Atmospheric Sciences of Meteorology with Cum Ladue Honors. She was also the captain of the Stony Brook University Cheerleading Squad and was very involved with community services.

She started her professional career with being a Meteorologist at NBC Weather Plus, forecasting and presenting for weather for NBC Weather Plus, CNBC, MSNBC, CNBC World, NBC Nightly News, and the NBC affiliate in San Diego, KNSD-TV, She served as a Morning Meteorologist for CNBC's morning show Squawk Box and the primary meteorologist for CNBC's dayside programming in 2008.

Britta tackled the devastating Midwest Flood season in 2008, broadcasting live from the NASDAQ in New York City's Time Square for the show Fast Money, That summer, She tackled Hurricane Gustav as it threatened to cripple the offshore oil rigs of Louisiana, In addition to being a Meteorologist, Her general reporting experience includes an exclusive feature interview with Jim Koch, The founder of Samuel Adams Brewery in Boston.

She was also a Member Of The American Meteorological Society Seal Of Apporval, Being off, Britta enjoys Dancing, baking and spending time with friends & family.
