Byrganym Sariyevna Aitimova has served as the ambassador of Kazakhstan to the United Nations since her appointment in February 2007. She served as the Minister of Education and Science until Zhanseit Tuymenbayev replaced her on 10 January 2007. She previously served as Kazakhstan's ambassador to Italy.
