Who is Camilo Sesto?

Camilo Sesto is the stage name of Camilo Blanes Cortés, a singer, songwriter, music producer and composer of romantic ballads, pop and rock.

In 2011, he was awarded the "Maximum Hispanic Pride" medal, delivered in the city of Las Vegas, Nevada in the United States. He has released albums in English, and some of his classic songs have been interpreted by Italian, Portuguese and German singers. With a frenetic activity level in the 1970s and 1980s, he remains one of the artists with the most number 1 hits, totaling 52, his number of top 40 list-songs being 18. In 4 decades of activity he is estimated to have exceeded 175 million copies sold worldwide, making him one of the biggest selling artists in the Spanish speaking world.

As a composer he has written songs for artists such as Miguel Bose, Cristina, Francisco, Angela Carrasco, Lani Hall, Audrey Landers, Lucía Méndez, Manolo Otero, Sergio Fachelli, Charytín Goyco, José José and Federico Cabo among others, and produced and translated into Spanish the lyrics of one of the albums of Air Supply.

In 1975 he starred in the role of Jesus in the rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar, [4] which he financed in its Spanish adaptation. [Citation needed]
