Who was Çandarlı Halil Pasha?
Çandarlı Halil Pasha, also known as Çandarlı Halil Pasha the Younger, was a highly influential Ottoman grand vizier under the sultans Murat II and, for the first few years of his reign, Mehmet II. He was a member of the Çandarlı family, a highly influential political family in the Ottoman Empire. He is not to be confused with his grandfather, Çandarlı Kara Halil Hayreddin Pasha, whom he was named after and who had also served as grand vizier, under Murat I.
