Who is Carl McCall?

Herman Carl McCall is a former Comptroller of New York State and was the Democratic candidate for state governor in 2002. He is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ, and currently serves on the board of directors of several corporations. He received a B.A. degree from Dartmouth College in 1958. He was also educated at the University of Edinburgh, received a Master's of Divinity Degree from Andover Newton Theological School, and is the recipient of nine honorary degrees. He was the first African-American to be elected Comptroller of New York State.
