Who is Carlo Palazzi?

Carlo Palazzi is quite possibly the first Italian designer to license his name in America. The English-based company, Jaeger, licensed Palazzi for an exclusive American line in the mid 1960s. Since then, he was licensed in Japan, Switzerland, Germany and Brazil. Palazzi's shop on the Via Borgognona in Rome catered to some of the world's most fashionable men—from film stars like George Hamilton and Marcello Mastroianni to international virtuosos like Leonard Bernstein and an impressive list of European and American notables.

From the start, Palazzi involved himself with the Italian film industry. He has designed clothes for more than 40 movies and had the honor of winning an Academy Award nomination for the clothing in "La Cage Aux Folles" and the sequel film.
