Who is Chan Chandler?

Chandler Chandler is the former pastor of East Waynesville Baptist Church who resigned after receiving national attention when nine members of his church who supported Democratic candidate John F. Kerry in the 2004 United States presidential election, took offense at his sermons pointing out Kerry's support of abortion and homosexuality, and left the church. The remaining members of the church then voted to remove them from church rolls.

At the time of the expulsion, Chandler was studying for his master's degree in divinity at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina.
