Who is Colette Flesch?
Colette Flesch is a Luxembourgish politician and former fencer.
As a fencer she participated in the Individual foil events at the 1960, 1964 and 1968 Summer Olympics.
She has served in numerous political capacities, both in government and within the Democratic Party and the European Liberal Democrat and Reform Party. In 1970 she became the first female Mayor of Luxembourg City. Besides these positions, she has also sat as a member of the Chamber of Deputies and as a member of the European Parliament. She holds a graduate degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University after gaining a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wellesley College.
