Who is Corin Hewitt?

Corin Hewitt is an American sculptor and photographer.

Hewitt received a BA from Oberlin College and an MFA from Milton Avery School of Art at Bard College. His work has been shown widely in the U.S. as well as Europe. He has had several US solo museum exhibitions including the Whitney Museum of Art, Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland and The Seattle Art Museum. He has been included in group exhibitions at the Whitney Museum of Art in New York, the Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art in Norway, the Wanas Foundation in Sweden, and with the Public Art Fund which commissioned a public project in Brooklyn, NY. Corin Hewitt is a recipient of a Rome Prize in 2014/15, a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2011/12 and a Joan Mitchell Foundation Grant in 2010. Hewitt is an Assistant Professor of Sculpture and Extended Media at Virginia Commonwealth University. Hewitt is also a member of the Artist Pension Trust and is represented by Laurel Gitlen Gallery in New York.
