Who is Daniel Jimenez Afanador?

Singer/Songwriter/Producer/Engineer/Guitarist Daniel Jimenez Afanador was born in Bogotá, Colombia in 1981. There he founded, played guitar, sang and wrote for the rock band Azul Profundo, which was very active in the Bogotan rock scene in the late nineties. In 2000 Daniel moved to Los Angeles where he received a degree in recording arts from Citrus College and a Bachelors of Music in commercial composition from California State University, Northridge. In 2002 Daniel was hired by German writer Hartwig Weber to write three songs for his documentary “Der Himmel Uber Mir.” The documentary about homeless children in the world was a great success. In 2003 Daniel founded Roxing Kafé, a band that mixed folkloric Latin American sounds with rock. In 2006 Roxing Kafé released its debut album in the United States and Colombia, which gained them great recognition in both countries.
