Who was David Lightbown?
Sir David Lincoln Lightbown was the Conservative Member of Parliament for South East Staffordshire from 1983 until he died in office in 1995. The resulting by-election for his seat was won by the Labour Party candidate Brian Jenkins.
He was well known during his time in Parliament as a government whip with a robust attitude towards ensuring Conservative MPs were voting as the government wished.
