Actor, TV Actor
1967 – 1994
Who was Dominic Lucero?
Dominic Lucero was an American actor, dancer and singer. He was born in Orange County, California.
In the early days of his stage career, he starred in a number of stage productions including: Chorus Line, The Pajama Game, and Grease. This then led him on to dance with artists such as Michael Jackson on his Bad tour, and Paula Abdul in various shows and videos, including her Cold Hearted video, the Arsenio Hall show, American Music Awards, and The Tracey Ullman Show. In 1991 Dominic took part in a dancing competition called Star Search in which his dancing group eventually went on to win. At about the same time, the group called New World from Star Search - who'd recently signed up with Capital Records - released a song in which Dominic was given the part of lead singer. His talent as a singer did not go unnoticed and he was subsequently offered a solo record, but he refused the offer in order to stay with the group. In 1993 Lucero was diagnosed with lymphatic cancer and was unable to continue his dancing or acting career. He died in Los Angeles, California on July 1, 1994 at the age of 26.
