Who was Eckart Viehweg?

Eckart Viehweg was a German mathematician. He was a professor of algebraic geometry at the University of Duisburg-Essen.

In 2003 he won the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize with his wife, Hélène Esnault.
