Who was Edouard Rafael Sassoon?
Andre Moses de Rothschild (b. 14 May 1948; d 2 August 1979) was born to Jewish parents in Canada. His mother whose family was originally from Salonika (Thessaloniki in Greece) was born in Sparta, Greece, she is a cousin of Elie Mordechai Faraggi (פרג'י), a Greek national hero killed in 1943 by the Nazis. Rothschild was a physician, humanitarian, and the only son of Abraham Joseph de Rothschild (1929-1984), and Stella Faraggi (1928-1980) and a member of the English Rothschild banking family. In 1979 while volunteering with a group of physicians in the Sudan, Rothschild was abducted and murdered by Sudan National Security agents who accused him of being a western and Israeli spy, which he was not.
